Exhibition:
This art collage focuses on the meaning of women’s power, and also national women’s day. I was inspired by Felipe Jesus Consalvos and the artwork I used to describe my idea was Notas De Sociedad. The reason for the famous celebrity is because i wanted to use someone that was a powerful figure and Ellen was one of the celebrities I chose. She’s a powerful figure for all women and also homosexuals. I created Ellen with a man’s body and added the word strong to throw out the meaning to everyone.

Process and Ideas:Ideas:
Politics, Environmental, Power. Hatching, Cross Hatching and Stippling. Process: Gather materials, small paper, large paper. Search for images for ideas, then cut images needed for the ideas. Play around to get the pieces in the correct spots. Attach them to the small paper, then once everything neat start to glue everything together with a glue stick. After all that recreate the work onto a large paper. Using techniques and media. |

Experimenting and Development:

My first plan was to find someone who had a voice in the Hollywood industry and who was best known for their act of kindness. I looked for a celebrity spokesmen. During that time it was national women's day, and the only people i had in mind were either Ellen or Oprah. I decided to go for Ellen, because she's the face for women's power and homosexuals across the world. Also her great work in " Finding Nemo" and "Finding Dory."

Artistic Inspiration:The artist that I chose to use as a inspiration for my collage is Felipe Jesus Consalvos. The work I used from Consalvos was Notas De Sociedad. The reason I chose to use this work is because of the composition of the work, the way that Consalvos arranged the images in a work of art. I also like the way that he used color on certain things. Not everything in the artwork has color. It looks like there were some part's cut out and add to the work.
Theres no images of Felipe Jesus Consalvos, he was born in cuba in 1891. Moved to Philadelphia and died around the 1960's. N.p.: n.p., n.d.Adams and ollman. Web. 11 Apr. 2017. <http://adamsandollman.com/Select-Works-1>.

I was able to bring back the techniques i used freshmen year and bring it into my collage. Ellen's face looks creepy to me, i'd like to go back and use a different media so that it would look better. What i enjoy most about the piece is the mans figure attached to Ellen's face, because it adds more to the meaning of women's power and that they are strength. Things that i would change with the artwork is putting it on a large piece of paper and adding a cleaner finish to the piece. Also color would be a nice touch to the piece, especially when i'm recreating the collage.

Act Questions:
1. Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect upon your work.
My inspiration affected my work politically, I took the idea of using a powerful figure and making them relate to a real-world cause or issue.
2. What is the overall approach (point of view) the author (from your research) has regarding the topic of your inspiration?
The research that i used on my inspiration was very low on information. Not much was known of my inspiration, I could only get my point of view from the artwork. I had to break down the work so that i would be able to understand it. But overall i was able to emulate my inspiration and create my work.
3. What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, etc. while you researched your inspirations?
A conclusion i came up with my artist is that he was a very political man, coming out of very corrupt country. So i believe that strived him to create works of art on the government and issues.
4. What was the central idea or theme around your inspirational research?
The central idea around my inspiration would be political issue or using powerful figures to get the the meaning.
5. What kind of inferences (conclusions reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning) did you make while reading your
research? Inferences i made about my artist is that he was a very in closed artist, not much was known about him, his history and his family was unknown. It was hard to get information about my artist and finding an image of him.
