Exhibition:
“Room” with a view is a sculpture created to show space that mostly everyone is in. It could be an area used to study, a bedroom, or even the bathroom. It’s a space that certain individual walk into. Not every space is the same; the hallways in the school is its own space, but then once I walk into class that is its own space. Every space gives off a different vibe, rather it’s a small space there is still something to it. This is the intention of the sculpture presenting a “Room” with a view.

Process and Idea:Ideas: Nature, Water, Environment.
New spacing The feeling of of an adventure. heading towards the water. Process: I started off looking at the beach and how to convey a space allowing an individual to escape into a different area. I connect three different paths way allowing a person to pick where they'd like to go. I focused more on the middle with a huge space, because that's where i feel more people would be attracted to the most. Then further down theirs a tight space where visitors would feel enclosed and once they past the tight space, they'll encounter a hill created out of sand and the reason I wanted the hill to be structured out of sand is because i want the visitor to feel like their still on the beach. But they'll have this sense of being in a new space. Sketches:Experiment and Development:The things I didn't enjoy about creating this piece, is not being able to use other materials to create a space walking towards the water. I'd like to have a little more free will to create a structure allowing a more cleaner look to the piece. I was thinking of creating a hill, but i decided to create something else so that there was a structure for cover.

There was a lot of playing around with pieces. The one thing i didn't enjoy was not being able to use symmetrical structures. I don't feel that creating a structure should have a rule to it. But rather then creating something for others to view and enjoy. But I very much enjoyed the idea part of "Room" with a view. Which is imagining being part of a different space and this space can be small or large. The space belongs to that individual that is in that space or it can belong to anyone else. If I redo this project, I would like to expand the project further by adding little trees or people to show the true size of this structure. There was a lot of play also, because there was a lot to create with the amount of pieces that were given. I think my ideas came easier, because the amount of creation put into this sculpture.

The Meaning:
3) How does the structure relate to our world physically as well as with our mind? I think physically, people like to go in inside a structure that isn't confusing. Like walking into a large school building and looking for a class room. Its hard to navigate from place to place when a building is structured to be large and confusing. That relates a lot to our mind as well. Things that are hard to navigate or wrap around our heads tend to frustrate the human mind. But by creating a structure that allows an individual to walk freely without any hassle and being able to reach a goal. That allows not only the person, but the mind to feel less frustration and a sense of relief or joy. 4) How does the structure embrace the lake? The stucture embraces the lake, allowing a certain individual to view the lake in a different way. 5) How does the structure use the fundamental architectural components of
The meaning overall stands for success, I believe that the first entrance is like the beginning of a new career or life and within that space. Once going forward theres this struggle that comes along with trying to reach success and once the struggle is past, the end is where success awaits. Being able to accomplish that struggle to reach this goal in mind. 7) 3 meaningful decisions |
Artist Inspiration:
RICHARD SERRANJ-2, ROUNDS: EQUAL WEIGHT, UNEQUAL MEASURE, ROTATE
OCTOBER 1, 2016 - APRIL 13, 2017 http://www.archdaily.com/868271/getty-research-institute-acquires-extensive-frank-gehry-archive I chose Frank Gehry as my second artist inspiration, because I like the way he designs his building suiting the environment or the surrounding that he's in. These structures are built to make the environment and i thought that was cool, because that is caring for the natural beauty that is presented. Which are the trees, rock, and rivers that are around this structures.

I was inspired by two artist. First being Richard Serra and second being Frank Gehry. I chose to do two artist, because both artist present amazing works of art. I enjoyed the idea of Serra's massive walls; that would bother some who was claustrophobic, because some of these sculptures are tight. But the work is phenomenal. I decided to emulate the sculpture Rounds: Equal weight, UnEqual measure, Rotate. I like the way Serra curved the end of the route so that a viewer wouldn't be able to see what was on the other side. Looking at the piece it makes me want to explore more of the work and see the size of it in person.

Act Questions:
1. Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect upon your work.
The inspiration effected my work physically, because the idea of creating the piece where audience would see it was perhaps a struggle for me. I was able to take the ideas from my inspiration and incorporate their ideas to a way that i feel suited the sculpture.
2. What is the overall approach (point of view) the author (from your research) has regarding the topic of your inspiration?
My inspiration allowed me to create my piece. I think without the research it would've been hard to get a good understanding on path, portal and place. Which was the key meaning to building the sculpture.
3. What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, etc. while you researched your inspirations?
The generalization that i've discovered is that, when my inspiration creates these kinds of work, they focus more on the viewer more. They care about what they create will affect the way the individual feels about their creation. They're work allows an person escape from one place to another.
4. What was the central idea or theme around your inspirational research?
The Central Idea around my inspiration would be environmental art and designing.
5. What kind of inferences (conclusions reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning) did you make while reading your
research?
How was my artist or why my artist decided to take this career. Was it out of joy? something that inspired them?
