Exhibition: The Landscape painting created with acrylic paint. Inspired by the artist Thomas Cole and the painting that inspired the landscape painting is The Oxbow. The painting was created to bring a conclusion to the everlasting environmental issues. The intentions of focusing on light, a vast amount of forest life and the sheer amount of green used to bring out the peacefulness. Thomas Coles looked to bring out both the cultivation by man and the untamed wilderness. That was the intentions of my work.

Experimentation/Techniques
What started as an idea of making a conclusion. Turned into a peaceful untamed wilderness. I struggled to figure out rather or not to mix a cultivation and wilderness. There was plenty thinking and I came to the final thought. I rather end my final theme with nature with a peaceful painting with no intentions of describing an environmental issue.

Reflection:
Overall I enjoyed creating this painting. There were some slit difficulty involving the size of the piece but overall it came out the way i wanted it too. What I really enjoy about the work is the overwhelming green. My intentions were to make the painting more peaceful and I believe I accomplished what I wanted. Inspired by Thomas Cole I used what I thought was such a brilliant idea to use in a painting. Thomas Cole believed in understanding the beauty of nature. He believed in the beauty of cultivation. He decided to show two sides of the perspective. Rather then mixing the two. He went forth and presented The Oxbow. Which I consider an amazing painting that was structured to describe two things. One being Cultivation and the other an untamed wilderness.
StrengthBeautifully painted trees.
Landscape is detailed. Sunlight reflection. |
WeaknessLake could've been painted in nicely.
Sunset needs to be lighter. Trees should've been painted in to depict actual forest. |
